Terms of Service

1. What Atlas CME Is
Atlas CME is an independent continuing medical education (CME) tracking tool. It helps physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers organize, track, and report their CME activities in one place.
Atlas CME is not a CME provider, accrediting body, or credentialing organization. It does not issue CME certificates, grant credit hours, or certify compliance with any medical board or licensing authority.
2. Not a Substitute for Professional Verification
Atlas CME is a convenience tool designed to help you stay organized. It is not a substitute for verifying your CME requirements directly with your state medical board, hospital credentialing office, or any other regulatory body.
You are ultimately responsible for ensuring you meet all CME requirements for your licenses and credentials. Always verify requirements and compliance status directly with the relevant authority before relying on information displayed in Atlas CME.
3. AI-Assisted Data Extraction
Atlas CME uses artificial intelligence to extract information from certificates you upload or forward via email. While we strive for accuracy, AI-extracted data may contain errors including but not limited to:
- Incorrect activity titles, dates, or issuing organizations
- Inaccurate credit hour amounts or category assignments
- Misidentification of certificate types or formats
- Failure to detect all activities on multi-activity certificates
You should always review AI-extracted data before confirming it as part of your record. Atlas CME provides a confidence score for each extraction to help you identify data that may need additional review.
4. CME Requirements Disclaimer
Atlas CME may display CME requirements for your state or organization. Some of these requirements are generated using AI research and may not reflect the most current requirements. Requirements can change at any time based on legislative, regulatory, or organizational updates.
Where AI-generated requirements are displayed, they will be clearly marked. We make reasonable efforts to keep this information current but cannot guarantee its accuracy. Always verify requirements directly with your state medical board or credentialing body.
5. Your Responsibilities
By using Atlas CME, you agree to:
- Only submit CME activities you have personally completed
- Review and verify all AI-extracted data before confirming it in your record
- Not rely solely on Atlas CME for compliance verification
- Keep your profile information (license states, renewal dates, specialty) up to date
- Not share your account credentials or personal forwarding email address with others
- Not submit fraudulent, falsified, or misleading CME documentation
6. Data Privacy
Atlas CME stores your personal information, CME records, and uploaded certificates securely. We use industry-standard encryption and access controls. Your data is used only to provide the Atlas CME service and is never sold to third parties.
Uploaded certificates are stored in encrypted cloud storage. AI extraction is performed using third-party AI services; certificate content is transmitted securely for processing but is not retained by the AI provider beyond the processing session.
If you are part of an organization on Atlas CME, your organization's administrators may be able to view your compliance status (hours completed vs. required). They cannot view your uploaded certificates or detailed activity records unless you explicitly share them.
7. Limitation of Liability
Atlas CME is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information provided is complete or accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Atlas CME and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of licensure, credentialing denials, financial losses, or professional consequences arising from:
- Errors in AI-extracted data
- Inaccurate or outdated CME requirements
- Service interruptions or data loss
- Reliance on Atlas CME for compliance decisions
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the Atlas CME application. Your continued use of the service after such notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
