FAQ
How many state-level CE hours do Connecticut CRNAs need?
Connecticut requires a minimum of 50 contact hours of CE within the preceding 24-month period at each APRN renewal under Conn. Gen. Stat. § 20-94d. The 50 hours include 5 hours of pharmacotherapeutics plus 1 hour each in six required topics (infectious disease/HIV-AIDS, risk management, sexual assault, domestic violence, cultural competency, and substance abuse/pain management). Veterans-mental-health (2 hr) is also required during the first applicable renewal and at least once every 6 years thereafter. APRN/CRNA renewal additionally requires active NBCRNA certification.
Does Connecticut require NBCRNA certification for CRNA licensure?
Yes. NBCRNA initial certification is required for APRN/CRNA licensure, and active NBCRNA certification must be maintained for renewal.
Is Connecticut part of the APRN Compact?
No. Connecticut is not a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) and has not enacted the APRN Compact. CRNAs practicing in Connecticut must hold Connecticut-issued credentials.
Where can I check my Connecticut CRNA license renewal date?
License status and renewal are managed through Connecticut's eLicense portal at elicense.ct.gov.
