FAQ
How many state-level CE hours do Maine CRNAs need?
Maine APRNs (including CRNAs) must complete at least 50 CEUs per biennial renewal cycle, with at least 30 of those CEUs being Category I. The 50-CEU state-level requirement is in addition to maintaining NBCRNA national certification.
Does Maine require NBCRNA certification for CRNA licensure?
Yes. NBCRNA initial certification is required for APRN/CRNA licensure, and active NBCRNA certification must be maintained for renewal alongside the 50-CEU state-level block.
Is Maine part of the APRN Compact?
No. Maine has not enacted the APRN Compact as of 2026. Maine is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for the RN portion only.
Where can I check my Maine CRNA license renewal date?
License status and verification are available through Maine PFR ALMS at pfr.maine.gov/almsonline/almsquery/SearchIndividual.aspx.
