FAQ
How many state-level CE hours do Maryland CRNAs need?
Maryland RN CE is 30 contact hours per biennium. CRNAs satisfy this through NBCRNA recertification CE. APRN renewal additionally requires active NBCRNA certification.
Does Maryland require NBCRNA certification for CRNA licensure?
Yes. NBCRNA initial certification is required for APRN/Nurse Anesthetist licensure, and active NBCRNA certification must be maintained for renewal.
Is Maryland part of the APRN Compact?
No. Maryland has not enacted the APRN Compact as of 2026. Maryland is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for the RN portion.
Where can I check my Maryland CRNA license renewal date?
License status and verification are available through MBON Public Verification at mbonimages.health.maryland.gov/PublicVerification/.
