FAQ
How many state-level CE hours do Nevada CRNAs need?
Nevada requires 45 contact hours of continuing education "related to practice as a nurse anesthetist" per biennial renewal under NAC 632.540(2)(c). The figure is reduced to 40 hours under NAC 632.540(3) when NBCRNA national recertification occurs within 1 year before the holder's birthday. The state also requires active NBCRNA certification; under NAC 632.545, the certificate of registration expires automatically if NBCRNA certification lapses. Underlying RN CE applies separately to the RN license.
Does Nevada require NBCRNA certification for CRNA licensure?
Yes. NRS 632.2395 requires successful completion of a nationally accredited nurse anesthesia program for initial certification, and NAC 632.545 ties continued validity of the CRNA certificate to active national certification. A lapse in NBCRNA certification triggers expiration of the Nevada certificate.
Is Nevada part of the APRN Compact?
No. Nevada has not enacted the APRN Compact. Nevada is also not a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) member for the RN portion of the license stack. Both credentials are single-state.
Where can I check my Nevada CRNA certificate renewal date?
Use the verification tool at https://nursingboard.nv.gov/Verifications/ or contact the Nevada State Board of Nursing directly.
