FAQ
How many state-level CE hours do Oklahoma CRNAs need?
OK does not impose a CRNA-specific state CE hour total at the APRN level — active NBCRNA certification satisfies continuing competency. CRNAs holding OK prescriptive authority must additionally complete 8 units of advanced pharmacology CE related to anesthesia administration per biennium under OAC 485:10-18-3. Initial CRNA prescriptive-authority application requires 15 units (or completion of an approved nurse anesthesia program).
Does Oklahoma require NBCRNA certification for CRNA licensure?
Yes. OK APRN-CRNA licensure requires current NBCRNA national certification, both at initial application and on a continuing basis.
Is Oklahoma part of the APRN Compact?
No. OK has not enacted the APRN Compact and is not a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for the RN portion. Both credentials are single-state.
Where can I check my Oklahoma CRNA license renewal date?
Use the OBN license verification tool at https://okbn.boardsofnursing.org/licenselookup or contact OBN at (405) 962-1800.
