Which board licenses CRNAs in Oregon?
The Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN). CRNAs are licensed as APRNs under Oregon Revised Statutes Chapter 678 and Oregon Administrative Rules Chapter 851.
How many state-level CE hours do Oregon CRNAs need?
Currently, OR APRNs must complete 1 hour of pain management CE within the last 36 months and 2 hours of cultural competency CE within the past 48 months. Effective January 1, 2028, OR APRNs must demonstrate either active national certification (NBCRNA for CRNAs) or 75 hours of advanced-practice CE per biennial renewal cycle.
Does Oregon require NBCRNA certification for CRNA licensure?
Yes — initial licensure requires successful completion of the NBCRNA exam, and continued maintenance of NBCRNA certification satisfies the 2028+ APRN renewal pathway directly.
Is Oregon part of the APRN Compact?
No, OR has not enacted the APRN Compact and is not a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for the RN portion. Both credentials are single-state.
