FAQ
Does Oregon treat DDS and DMD differently for CE purposes?
No. DDS and DMD are equivalent dental degrees, and the Oregon Board of Dentistry applies identical CE rules to both.
Are ADA CERP credits accepted in Oregon?
Yes. ADA CERP-recognized and AGD PACE-approved providers are accepted under the Board's general approved-provider framework in OAR 818-021.
Are there mandatory CE topics for dentist renewal in Oregon?
Yes — 3 hrs medical emergencies, 2 hrs infection control, 2 hrs cultural competency (HB 2611), 1 hr pain management. Implant providers: 7 hrs implant CE. Sedation permit holders: 4-14 hrs sedation CE plus BLS, ACLS, or PALS depending on permit tier.
Where can I check my Oregon dental license renewal date?
The Oregon Board of Dentistry maintains license records at oregon.gov/dentistry. The Board audits approximately 15% of licensees after each renewal, so retain CE documentation for at least 4 years.
