How many state-level CE hours do Utah CRNAs need?
None as a contact-hour total for currently-certified CRNAs. Under R156-31b-303(3)(b), the APRN renewal pathway is to be "currently certified or recertified in the licensee's specialty area of practice" — for CRNAs that means active NBCRNA recertification. A 30-hour CE pathway exists only as a legacy alternative for APRNs licensed before July 1, 1992 who are not nationally certified.
Does Utah require NBCRNA certification for CRNA licensure?
Yes. Utah APRN-CRNA licensure requires current NBCRNA national certification, both at initial application and on a continuing basis as the renewal pathway under R156-31b-303(3)(b)(i)(A).
Is Utah part of the APRN Compact?
Yes — Utah enacted the APRN Compact in 2020 and is one of four enacting states. The compact is not yet operational pending seven enacting states. Utah is also a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for the underlying RN license.
Where can I check my Utah CRNA license renewal date?
Use the Utah license verification tool at https://secure.utah.gov/llv/search/index.html or contact Utah DOPL.
