Documentation & audit

Podiatrists are responsible for retaining CME documentation and producing it on request. Requirements include course title, dates, hours, sponsoring organization, and accrediting body.

Waivers & exemptions

Hardship/full-time-activity excuse: a licensee who properly documents engagement in full-time activities or circumstances preventing compliance may be excused from the CE requirement for up to three years.

New-licensee pro-rata reduction: the required hours are decreased pro-rata for any part of the two-year period that preceded the license date for someone first licensed mid-cycle.
