Licensee-determined (criteria-based; no board pre-approval) | Iowa does not operate a board-pre-approval system. The board does not pre-approve CE providers, sponsors, or individual programs — licensees are responsible for determining whether a course meets the rule's criteria. Qualifying CE must meet the 702.3(1) general criteria (organized program of learning, directly relevant subject matter, qualified presenters, stated goals/objectives, proof of attendance) and, for the podiatric-scientific-nature pathway, be sponsored by an accredited college of podiatric medicine, the American Podiatric Medical Association or a regional/state affiliate, or a nonprofit hospital.SourceIowa Admin. First-renewal exemption — those persons licensed for the first time shall not be required to complete CE as a prerequisite for the first renewal of their licenses. CE hours acquired anytime from initial licensing until the second license renewal may be used.
Atlas CME tracks your hours, maps them to your state requirements, and reminds you before your renewal date.
