Not less than 20 hours of board-approved Category 1 CME annually, per La. Admin. Code tit. 46:XLV § 1373(A). Documentation must be maintained for at least 4 years.
Are APMA-approved credits accepted in Louisiana?
Yes. La. Admin. Code tit. 46:XLV § 1375(A)(1) presumptively approves programs offered by the American Podiatric Medical Association or its successor association. ACCME-accredited programs, ABMS member-board programs, and programs accredited by the Louisiana State Medical Society (or any other ACCME-recognized state medical society) are also presumptively approved.
Are there mandatory CE topics for DPM renewal in Louisiana?
No specific topical hour mandates are carved out within the 20-hour annual total under Subchapter J. The federal MATE Act adds a one-time 8-hour SUD training for DEA-registered podiatrists.
Where can I check my Louisiana podiatry license renewal date?
The LSBME maintains a license verification search at online.lasbme.org/#/verifylicense, displaying current status, expiration date, and disciplinary history. The LaMED DashBoard at online.lasbme.org is the official renewal portal.
