Louisiana has no state-mandated topic requirements beyond the 30-hour total.
These rules apply only when the trigger described under each card is met (for example, holding a state-issued controlled substance registration or treating a specific patient population). Each cites the underlying statute or rule directly.
Louisiana RNs/APRNs must complete EITHER 30 board-approved CE contact hours OR 900 practice hours during the 2-year licensure period.

Louisiana APRNs (including CRNAs) must maintain active national certification (NBCRNA for CRNAs) for APRN renewal. APRNs whose role/population focus does not have a national cert must show 300 practice hours annually.

Louisiana APRNs WITH Controlled Substance Authority (prescriptive authority) must complete 6 contact hours of pharmacotherapeutics CE annually = 12 hours per biennium. Most CRNAs do not separately hold CSA but those who do (e.g., for pain practice) are subject.

Credit must come from an organization accredited by the ACCME, AMA, Louisiana Medical Association, or AAFP. ACGME residency or fellowship time accrues toward the requirement. Teaching or presenting accredited CME can satisfy a portion of required hours.
