How many state-level CE hours do New Mexico CRNAs need?
NMAC 16.12.2.13(I) accepts NBCRNA recertification as satisfying the mandatory CE requirement, so CRNAs who maintain NBCRNA certification have no separate 30-hour CE block to track. CRNAs holding DEA registration at any time during the renewal period must additionally complete 5 contact hours in the management of non-cancer pain per biennium.
Does New Mexico require NBCRNA certification for CRNA licensure?
Yes. The Board requires "evidence of successful completion of national certification exam as described by the National Board on Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthesia Anesthetists (NBCRNA)." Active NBCRNA certification must be maintained.
Is New Mexico part of the APRN Compact?
No, NM has not enacted the APRN Compact as of April 2026. NM is, however, a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for the underlying RN license.
Where can I check my NM CRNA license renewal date?
Use the NM Nurse Portal at https://nmbn.boardsofnursing.org/nmbn or contact the NM Board of Nursing at (505) 841-8340.
