FAQ
How many CE hours do Delaware podiatrists need?
Thirty-two (32) hours per biennium. Renewal is on a fixed biennial cycle that ends June 30 of even-numbered years. New licensees are exempt from CE for their first biennial cycle. Reinstatement from inactive status requires 16 hours (if inactive ≤1 year) or 32 hours (if inactive >1 year, within the prior 24 months).
Are APMA-approved credits accepted in Delaware?
Yes — APMA and APMA-affiliate programming is the primary accepted credit type. Delaware Podiatric Medical Association (DPMA) seminars and CPME-approved hospital residency programs are also pre-approved without additional Board review. Other programs require prior Board approval.
Are there mandatory CE topics for DPM renewal in Delaware?
Not in the podiatry board CE rule itself. Delaware imposes no podiatry-rule opioid, abuse reporting, human trafficking, or jurisprudence carve-out. But DPMs holding a Delaware Controlled Substance Registration must complete 2 hours biennially under CSAC Regulation Section 3.1.3, and new CSR registrants must complete a one-time 1-hour Delaware law/regulation course. The federal MATE Act adds a separate one-time 8-hour SUD training for DEA-registered podiatrists.
Where can I check my Delaware podiatry license renewal date?
The Delaware Division of Professional Regulation operates a license lookup at dpronline.delaware.gov, which displays current status, expiration date, and any disciplinary history. The Board of Podiatry's main page (dpr.delaware.gov/boards/podiatry) also links to renewal information and the online renewal portal.
