FAQ
How many CE hours do Florida podiatrists need?
Forty (40) hours per biennial renewal cycle, on a fixed biennial cycle that ends March 31 of even-numbered years (current cycle ends March 31, 2028). The 40 hours break down to 36 general + 2 medical errors + 1 laws/rules + 1 risk management. F.S. § 456.013(6) sets the same 40-hour biennial floor for podiatrists, MDs, DOs, and chiropractors.
Are APMA-approved credits accepted in Florida?
Yes. APMA, CPME, AMA, AHA, and AOA approved CME are all accepted under Rule 64B18-17.001. CE Broker maintains the Board-approved course catalog at courses.cebroker.com/search/fl/podiatric-physician.
Are there mandatory CE topics for DPM renewal in Florida?
Yes — multiple. Every renewal cycle: 2 hours Medical Errors, 1 hour Laws and Rules, 1 hour Risk Management, 2 hours Controlled Substance Prescribing (within general hours, F.S. § 461.007(3)). One-time at first renewal: 1 hour Human Trafficking, 1 hour HIV/AIDS. The federal MATE Act adds a one-time 8-hour SUD training for DEA registrants.
Where can I check my Florida podiatry license renewal date?
The Florida Department of Health maintains a license verification search at mqa-internet.doh.state.fl.us, and the Board's renewal page (floridaspodiatricmedicine.gov/podiatric-physician-renewal) links the MQA Online Services portal for renewal. CE Broker (cebroker.com) also displays renewal information for any DPM registered in the system.
