FAQ
How many CE hours do Idaho podiatrists need?
Thirty (30) hours per biennium. Idaho transitioned from annual to biennial licensure as of October 14, 2025. All CE must be germane to the practice of podiatry — non-podiatric clinical or practice-management content does not qualify.
Are APMA-approved credits accepted in Idaho?
Yes — APMA / CPME approved CME is the primary accepted credit type because it is inherently germane to podiatric practice. AMA Category 1 hours qualify only insofar as the content pertains to podiatric medicine.
Are there mandatory CE topics for DPM renewal in Idaho?
No state-imposed mandatory topics — no opioid CE, no abuse reporting, no human trafficking, no jurisprudence requirement. Idaho does impose mandatory PDMP checking obligations on prescribers (separate from CE), and the federal MATE Act adds a one-time 8-hour SUD training for DEA registrants.
Where can I check my Idaho podiatry license renewal date?
DOPL operates a license search at apps.dopl.idaho.gov/DOPLPublic/LPRBrowser.aspx, which displays current status, expiration date, and disciplinary history. The Idaho State Board of Podiatry main page at dopl.idaho.gov/pod links the online services portal at edopl.idaho.gov/OnlineServices for renewal.
