Idaho recently moved to a calendar-year CE accumulation period (Jan 1 – Dec 31), with no carry-over of CE hours between renewal cycles.

No formal waivers or exemptions are published for Idaho.

FAQ
How many state-level CE hours do Idaho CRNAs need?
Idaho APRNs (including CRNAs) must complete 30 contact hours of CE per biennial renewal cycle, of which 10 must be in pharmacology, plus a documented peer review process. The 30-hour state-level CE block is in addition to maintaining NBCRNA national certification.
Does Idaho require NBCRNA certification for CRNA licensure?
Yes. NBCRNA initial certification is required for APRN/CRNA licensure, and active NBCRNA certification must be maintained for renewal under IDAPA 24.34.01.100.11. Idaho also requires the 30-hour APRN CE block and peer review on top.
Is Idaho part of the APRN Compact?
No. Idaho has not enacted the APRN Compact as of 2026. Idaho is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for the RN portion only.
Where can I check my Idaho CRNA license renewal date?
License status and verification are available through the DOPL license search at dopl.idaho.gov/license-search/.
