FAQ
Does Utah treat DDS and DMD differently for CE purposes?
No. DDS and DMD are equivalent dental degrees, and DOPL applies identical CE rules to both.
Are ADA CERP credits accepted in Utah?
Yes. ADA CERP-recognized and AGD PACE-approved providers are accepted under DOPL's general approved-provider framework.
Are there mandatory CE topics for dentist renewal in Utah?
For most dentists, the 30-hour total is not subject to topic-specific mandates. Current BLS, ACLS, or PALS certification is required separately. Sedation permit holders add tier-specific CE: 2 hours (minimal), 4 didactic hours plus case attestations (moderate), or 8 didactic hours plus case attestations (deep/general anesthesia).
Where can I check my Utah dental license renewal date?
The Utah Division of Professional Licensing maintains license records at commerce.utah.gov/dopl. Online renewal is available through utahdoc.mylicenseone.com.
