For CRNAs, 30 hours is the total CME requirement. Washington also requires a set of one-time topics that count toward the 30-hour total.
“2 hours of health equity CE every renewal period”
These rules apply only when the trigger described under each card is met (for example, holding a state-issued controlled substance registration or treating a specific patient population). Each cites the underlying statute or rule directly.
WA ARNP-CRNAs must complete 30 contact hours of CE per renewal period, maintain active NBCRNA certification, and complete 96 practice hours per year on the underlying RN.
“Has 30 continuing education hours”
ARNPs with prescriptive authority must complete an additional 15 hours of pharmacology CE per renewal period.
“Has 15 additional continuing education hours relating to pharmacology if you have prescriptive authority”
Credit must come from an organization accredited by the ACCME, AMA, Washington Medical Association, or AAFP. ACGME residency or fellowship time accrues toward the requirement. Teaching or presenting accredited CME can satisfy a portion of required hours.

Physicians are responsible for retaining CME documentation and producing it on request. Requirements include course title, dates, hours, sponsoring organization, and accrediting body.
ARNP-CRNAs (holders of an active certified registered nurse anesthetist license) are expressly exempt from the one-time, six-hour suicide assessment/treatment/management training that the rule otherwise requires of registered nurses.
A nurse who is enrolled in, or has completed prerequisite classes for, an advanced nursing education program is exempt from the continuing competency (CE/practice-hour) requirements during their current review period.
