FAQ
Does Oklahoma treat DDS and DMD differently for CE purposes?
No. DDS and DMD are equivalent dental degrees, and the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry applies identical CE rules to both.
Are ADA CERP credits accepted in Oklahoma?
Yes. ADA CERP-recognized and AGD PACE-approved providers are accepted under the Board's general approved-provider framework. CE Broker (cebroker.com) is the Board's reporting platform as of July 1, 2025.
Are there mandatory CE topics for dentist renewal in Oklahoma?
Yes — every dentist must complete 2 hours of opioid CE, ethics CE (often 1 hour, online via dentalethics.org), and live BLS/CPR with hands-on compression. The opioid CE is universal, not limited to DEA registrants.
Where can I check my Oklahoma dental license renewal date?
The Oklahoma Board of Dentistry maintains license records at oklahoma.gov/dentistry. Biennial reporting and renewal align with the July 1 – June 30 odd-year cycle. CE compliance is tracked through CE Broker.
