Conditional requirements

These rules apply only when the trigger described under each card is met (for example, holding a state-issued controlled substance registration or treating a specific patient population). Each cites the underlying statute or rule directly.

Biennial

Each NH APRN applicant for renewal must complete at least 30 contact hours of CE to satisfy RN continuing competence PLUS an additional 30 hours of APRN-specific CE within the 2 years immediately preceding the application — for a total of 60 contact hours per biennium. At least 20 of the 30 APRN hours must be specific to specialty practice, and 5 hours must be in pharmacology. NBCRNA national certification may be counted as 30 of the 60 contact hours.

FAQ
How many state-level CE hours do New Hampshire CRNAs need?
60 contact hours per biennium under Nur 401.03 and Nur 403.01: 30 hours of RN continuing education plus 30 hours of APRN-specific continuing education, with at least 20 of the 30 APRN hours in the specialty practice area and 5 hours in pharmacology. NBCRNA national certification may be counted as 30 of the 60 contact hours under Nur 401.03(b). The substantive continuing-competency check for CRNAs is also active NBCRNA certification, which must be maintained to keep the APRN-CRNA license.
Does New Hampshire require NBCRNA certification for CRNA licensure?
Yes. NH NUR Part 302 requires current national certification (NBCRNA) for APRN-CRNA licensure. Lapse of NBCRNA certification jeopardizes the NH APRN-CRNA license.
Is New Hampshire part of the APRN Compact?
No, NH has not enacted the APRN Compact as of April 2026. NH is, however, a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for the underlying RN portion of the license stack.
Where can I check my NH CRNA license renewal date?
Use the OPLC license verification tool at https://forms.nh.gov/license/ or contact the NH Board of Nursing.
