FAQ
How many CE hours do Ohio podiatrists need?
50 hours every two years, set by statute (ORC § 4731.282). The same total applies to MDs and DOs.
Are APMA-approved credits accepted in Ohio?
Yes. ORC § 4731.282 explicitly recognizes coursework "certified by the Ohio podiatric medical association," and OHFAMA programs commonly flow through APMA accreditation. AMA PRA Category 1 is also accepted.
Are there mandatory CE topics for DPM renewal in Ohio?
The statute does not impose hour-mandated topics on podiatrists. HB 33 (2023) requires the Board to approve domestic-violence and chronic-pain courses without setting an hour floor. Federal MATE Act training applies to DEA-registered podiatrists.
Where can I check my Ohio podiatry license renewal date?
The Ohio eLicense portal at elicense.ohio.gov handles license verification, renewal, and CME documentation for all State Medical Board of Ohio licensees.
