Documentation & audit

Waivers & exemptions

The board may exempt a podiatrist from CME for extenuating circumstances, but no person may be exempted from more than 15 CME hours in a five-year period.

The 2-hour pain management and opioid education requirement is waived for a licensee who demonstrates that they do not currently hold a valid federal DEA registration number.

A retired-status license is valid for life, does not require renewal, and is exempt from AS 08.64.312 continuing-education requirements.
